Musketeers in Black

MIB 1625: "Swashbuckling investigators of the paranormal battle aliens, conspiracies, and the Cardinal's Guards in Paris, circa 1625."

This manages to make 7th Sea's metaplot look reasonable.

I followed the link to "Rondak's Portal," hoping to find an actual play log or something, but no joy. Too bad.

  1. Is it MIB 1625 ir 1626? It seems the site can't quite decide on a year.

On the plus side the site has 4 maps - Paris and Europe circa 1630, the Caribbean ca 1680 and Africa ca 1700.

  2. Is it a translation of the French game "Mousquetaires de l'ombre" ???

    2. Puzzling out the French is a bit tricky for those of us who are monolingual. :(

    3. A prison ship full of aliens crashes near Fontainebleau in 1654; Mazarin forms the Shadow Musketeers company to deal with the escaped prisoners.

  3. How very niche. Can't say I'd have any interest in it. I wonder how many players it has.

    1. I'm not interested in playing it, either, but I do find the phenomenon of swashbucklers v. aliens curious as a recurring thing - I mean, 7th Sea went this route, you have the two games mentioned here, plus Robots & Rapiers.
